Why go vegan?
FOR THE ANIMALS
Like us, animals can suffer and feel joy, and they should be able to live their lives however they wish. Animals are sentient, that is, they are conscious and they can feel emotions and a broad range of sensations. By eating animals, we’re condemning them to a miserable life and a terrible death.
FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
Animal agriculture, including farms and plantations devoted to feed farm animals, accounts for 77% of the land area devoted to food production worldwide. Nevertheless, it provides only 18% of the calories and 37% of the protein that sustain the world population.
FOR YOUR HEALTH
According to a study conducted with 6381 people, the prevalence of cancer is up to four times higher in people on diets high in animal protein (more than 20% of daily calories) than in people on diets low in animal protein (less than 10% of daily calories).
